Jean Wolf ObituaryDorothy "Jean" Wolfe, 94, of Pylesville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, In Cambridge, Maryland surrounded by family and the quiet comforts of home.
Jean was the devoted wife of the late Charles Martin Wolf, sharing a loving marriage from 1950 until his passing in 2019. Their partnership was built on a foundation of faith, mutual respect, and a deep, unwavering loyalty that touched all who knew them. She is survived by their cherished daughter, Mary Beth Wolf, and son-in-law, Eric Adams, who remember her as a guiding light, a steadfast friend, and a source of quiet strength. She was the sister of the late William Richard Dawson and is remembered with affection as an adored aunt by Cordie Thompson, Debbie Brown, and Rick Dawson. In Cambridge and beyond, Jean's generosity of spirit warmly touched family, friends, and neighbors, creating a tapestry of memories that will endure.
Jean's life was rich with simple joys pursued with wholehearted devotion. She found great fulfillment in tending her garden, where vegetables and flowers thrived under her careful care and patient hands. The garden was a place of respite and a living testament to her belief in nurture and growth. Sewing brought her a sense of accomplishment and calm as she transformed fabric into cherished garments and thoughtful keepsakes for loved ones. Her love of reading offered her endless avenues of exploration, whether diving into a novel, a devotional, or a biography, always accompanied by her steady, thoughtful perspective.
Music was a companion that accompanied Jean through many chapters of life. She cherished the sounds of gospel and country, often tapping along or singing softly to herself, her heart lifted by melodies that carried memories of faith, family, and community. She delighted in attending concerts featuring gospel and country stars, where the energy of live performance and shared appreciation strengthened her bonds with others who shared her passions.
Jean's bond with Cambridge ran deep. The town was more than a place to her; it was a home in which she cultivated friendships, offered a listening ear, and found inspiration in the steady rhythms of daily life. She never missed an opportunity to spend time there, savoring the familiar sights, sounds, and conversations that reminded her of the values she held dear-kindness, courtesy, and a sense of belonging.
Her faith anchored her daily life and sustained her through both joys and challenges. Jean faced each day with grace, modeling resilience, humility, and a quiet confidence in God's plan. She offered support and encouragement to others, often sharing a word of comfort or a practical gesture of care that reflected her generous heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Jean's name to Delta United Methodist Church and to the Citizens Volunteer Fire Company, organizations that embodied the communities she loved and faithfully supported.
