Jean Yoder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. on Nov. 16, 2023.
Jean K. Yoder, 91, of Shillington, PA, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 14th at The Heritage at Green Hills.

Jean was born in Lancaster, PA, on August 8, 1932, a daughter of Jacob and Dora Lehman. She was the wife of the late John P. Yoder, Jr.

Jean is survived by two daughters: Jacqueline, wife of Stephen Hollinger, of Terri Hill, PA, and Dori Jean Noecker, of Brigantine, NJ; and two sons: Gary Lee Stone, of St James City, FL, and Dennis E Stone, of Westport, PA. Jean is also survived by a sister, Geraldine, widow of John Ebersole, and a brother, Leroy Lehman, husband of Josie, of East Petersburg, PA.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Waiting for Jean in Heaven are her husband John, parents, brother Lee Lehman, Baby Douglas, and beloved pets: Nancy, Sugar, and Snutzie.

Jean graduated from Manheim High School. She was an LPN and worked in hospital, geriatric and prison nursing. She was also a Realtor and assisted people in the buying and selling of homes.

Jean's mission in her later years was to show the love of Jesus to her family and others through music. She sang in the choirs at West Lawn Methodist church for many years and enjoyed being a soloist at the church and at Nursing homes. She also enjoyed singing, praying and telling God's love to the prisoners at the Berks County Jail. She started the Van Mission and Souper Bowl Sunday at the church and crocheted many Prayer shawls for hurting souls.

She also went on two mission trips to Oklahoma to share God's love to the Native Americans. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, movies, crossword puzzles, crocheting, and bird watching.

A graveside service and interment will be at the Mastersonville Cemetery in Manheim, PA, on November 28th, Tuesday, at 2 PM.

Arrangements entrusted to John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. 625 N. 4th Street at Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601, 610-372-4160. Obituary and condolences at www.johnpfeeney.com.

Jean was my sister-in-law. We had many fun family dinners together when my husband was alive. She was a lovely person and we used to call each other sister. Love you Jean.

I met Jean at Berks Heim nursing home in the early 80's. We worked together many a time. She was a kind nurse. We enjoyed the newspaper crossword puzzles and would call each other when we got stuck. She would say, did you get the stupid puzzle/" LOL. Jean was kind and thoughtful and loved her family. I never saw her angry .We would talk on the phone daily. I will miss her.
