Susan E. Reading, 75, of Manheim, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Oak Leaf Manor North, Landisville. Born in Bernville, she was the daughter of the late David and Dorothy I. Heilinger Heisey. Susan was the loving wife of the late Kenneth L. Reading who passed away in 2022. She graduated in 1969 from Manheim Central High School. Susan worked as a private duty Certified Nursing Assistant. She also volunteered for the Manheim Ambulance Association for 20 years, Northwest EMS, and the former Mount Hope Dunkard Nursing Home. Susan enjoyed flower gardening, birds, going to the cabin in Potter County and her trip to Alaska in 2015.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn and Mark Reading, a daughter, Cindy S. Martin, four grandchildren; Tyler and Dylan Reading, Kerri and Kyria Martin, and a brother, John husband of Arlene Heisey. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Paul and Alvin Heisey.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Susan’s Graveside Service at East Fairview Church Cemetery, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of graveside.
