Jeanette "Cougar" Giedl
Age 81, of Monroe, died on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at SSM Monroe Hospital. Jeanette was born on September 9, 1943 in Monroe, the daughter of Albin and Marie (Miller) Jegerlehner. She was a 1961 graduate of Monroe High School and was united in marriage to Louis J. Giedl on July 16, 1967 in Las Vegas. She was employed as a postal carrier in Chicago for 35 years before moving back to Monroe in 1998.
Jeanette was a very social person who made friends easily and always had a joke to tell. When she met someone for the first time, they would be friends by the end of the conversation. Jeanette loved to travel, especially to Europe to visit distant relatives. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and in her younger years enjoyed bowling, skiing, and playing golf.
She will be remembered by her brother, Ralph Jegerlehner of Monroe; nephew, A.J. (Betty) Jegerlehner of Sun Prairie; niece, Kris (Todd) Hasse of Monroe; great niece and nephews, Brittni Jegerlehner, Brevin Jegerlehner (fiancée, Kaitlyn Shadoski), Mitchel (Beka) Hasse, Trevor Hasse; and great-great nephew, Hunter Hasse. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis on June 5, 1992; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Jegerlehner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Chahm Gahng officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Jeanette's name. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
The family would like to thank two special friends, Mariella Hunt and Tammy Rutsch for the loving care they gave Jeanette.
