Jeanette Lynn (Echard) Jamison, 74, of Monterey, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 at her home.
Born October 30, 1949 in Highland County, she was a daughter of Norma Jean Echard and the late Melvin “Pete” Lee Echard.
In addition to her father, Jeanette was predeceased by two husbands, Charles Henry Jamison who passed in 1993, and Kerry Gale Sponaugle in 2015; as well as her only child, Gregory Lee Jamison in 2015.
Jeanette had retired from Hanover Shoe Company, and additionally worked with Summit Community Bank, Rexrode’s Store, and the Highland Inn.
Jeanette was raised in Monterey United Methodist Church and would go on to attend and hold membership with St. John Lutheran Church.
Jeanette enjoyed time spent listening to country music, line dancing, mowing grass, as well as cooking, cleaning, and caring for others. Additionally, Jeanette loved time spent with her family, especially her niece and her children, as well as her grandchildren who referred to her as “Net Nettles.” Above all, Jeanette will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and selfless person whose love and affection for family knew no bounds.
Surviving family members include her mother, Norma Jean Echard of Monterey; sister, Beverly Echard of Monterey; niece, Alissa Georganzis and husband, Nickolas of Staunton; great-niece, Kaeli Rae Smith of Albany, NY; and great-nephew, Tarun Quinn Smith of Staunton; daughter-in-law, Lisa Jamison and companion, Andy Alt of Franklin, WV; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rollins and husband, Billy and Mallory Roberson of Franklin, WV, and Addison Sponaugle of Monterey; stepdaughter, Kara Sponaugle of Waynesboro; stepsons, Brent Sponaugle and wife, Tammy of Blue Grass, Aaron Sponaugle of Blue Grass, and Jon Sponaugle of Waynesboro; as well as great-grandchildren, Mason and Henry Warner, Taylor Roberson, Coleson Miller, and Garrett Lambert, all of Franklin, WV.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Saint John Lutheran Church with pastors Paul Schafer and Mike Nay officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024 at Obaugh Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Dennis and David Jamison; Brent and Aaron Sponaugle; Tarun Smith and Ron Gutshall.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends in attendance.
