Jeanette Ann Miekka (Lambe) passed away on March 12, 2025, in St Petersburg, FL. She was born on August 25, 1931, in Kenmore, NY, to Harry and Beulah Lambe. She grew up in New York and Massachusetts and spoke fondly of her childhood summers spent with her extended family in Texas. Jeanette received her Bachelor of Science Education and Master of Science Education from Boston University. She would reminisce that during college the BU gals and MIT guys would often cross over the "Smoots" Bridge to meet each other. This is how she met her husband Richard Miekka whom she married in June 1958. They raised three children together, Jim, Fred and Cynthia. Jeanette taught biology and general science at the high school level. In 1992 she and her husband, Richard, moved to St Petersburg, FL, where they continued their shared love of classical music and travelling. They often enjoyed going to see the Florida Orchestra, and their home was filled with souvenirs from their many trips abroad. Jeanette is predeceased by her brother Harry and her son James. She is survived by her husband Richard Miekka, her children Frederick Miekka and Cynthia Bordas (Jean-Luc Bordas), and her grandchildren Solene and Alexandre Bordas. Jeanette leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. She was a breast cancer survivor and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
