Jeanette Schott Ronneberg passed away at her home on December 20, 2024 at the age of 78 after a nearly 2 year long fight with cancer. Jeanette was born March 3, 1946 in McLaughlin, South Dakota to Chris & Pauline Schott. She moved with her family to a ranch east of Grey Cliff in 1946 where she attended grade school with her siblings, and then attended and graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in Big Timber in 1964.
After high school, she worked at some local businesses until she started work at the Pioneer Medical Center, where she worked for 27 years. Jeanette married Carl Ronneberg on June 15th, 1968.
Jeanette was a favorite CNA of the residents at the nursing home, as she knew many of them and their lives before the nursing home. She gave great care to those residents, and she was able to talk to them about familiar people and places. She was also very well known for her tremendous work ethic and ability to make others laugh.
After retirement from the PMC, Jeanette enjoyed going out to the ranch to help Earl care for the cows and her kitties. She was great at working with the cows and calves, and she loved to see the new babies born every year. There was never a job on the ranch that was too tough for her!
Jeanette also loved to spend time with her best friends. They loved to spend time at each other's birthday parties that they always took time to plan. Oh, to be a fly on the wall at those parties!! They loved to have fun together!
By far, Jeanette's favorite thing was to be sure that everyone was taken care of, especially her grandkids. She was definitely the best Grandma and Nana! The kids loved to spend time at her house, and they always knew to ask her for something they wanted because she would rarely tell them no. The kids will miss her so much, but they were blessed to know her and love her during some of the best years of her life.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Pauline Schott, her brothers Alvin, Dale, Elmer, Marvin, and Kenneth Schott, and her sister Bertie Schott. She is survived by her brother Earl Schott, husband Carl Ronneberg, daughters Karla Ronneberg (children Kade, Dillon, Kaitlynn, and Bryanna) and Karen Tuscano (husband Wesley, children Elyse, Graham, and Owen), numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.
The Family would like to thank the PMC providers, especially Dr. Walker, Chelsea, and Ashley, the PMC nursing and outpatient staff, the PMC lab & imaging and front office staff, Dr. Hokenstad and the Intermountain Health OB/GYN oncology staff, as well as Hearts and Hands Hospice for their excellent care and love for Jeanette.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday December 28, 2024 at the Big Timber Lutheran Church, the casket will be open from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Donations can be made in Jeanette's name to the Sweet Grass Cancer Alliance, Hearts and Hands Hospice, or a charity of one's choice.
