Jeanine Armstrong Obituary

Jeanine Krauter Armstrong, a dearly loved mother, “Mimi”, and dedicated member of her community, passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 89 surrounded by her family at her residence in Cleveland, TN. Born on December 2, 1935, Jeanine lived a life rich with love, passion, and commitment to her family and friends. She spent the majority of her life living in Nashville, and recently moved to Cleveland, TN. She loved her family with every ounce of her being. She leaves behind a strong legacy in her family who will cherish nothing but wonderful memories.

Jeanine is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruth Krauter; brother, Douglas “Doug” Krauter, and step-daughter, Luana “Kim” Armstrong.

Jeanine is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Joe A. Armstrong; children, Cheryl Hows McClaran of O'Fallon, Missouri, Pam Hows Fromm (Jack) of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Michelle Armstrong Myers (Greg) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. She was “Mimi” to grandchildren, Dustin Fromm (Jasmine), Hunter McClaran (Erica), Chad Fromm, Chelsea McClaran Bothe (Paul), Jacob Myers (Mallory), and Will Myers; great-grandchildren Kendall McClaran, Teddy Bothe, Cooper Myers, Eleanor Fromm, Murphy Bothe.

A proud graduate of Bellevue High School, class of 1954, Jeanine’s journey through life was marked by her many roles, first as a devoted stay-at-home mom raising her daughters, and later as a secretary who brought care to the workplace. Her family will forever treasure the memories of her as an excellent cook, always finding joy in preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together around the table.

Beyond her role as a mother, and mimi, Jeanine's interests stretched wide, reflecting her adventurous spirit. She had a love for gardening, often finding solace and satisfaction in taking care of her plants and flowers. Her excitement for sports and travel enriched her life, allowing her to create cherished memories with those she loved. Jeanine was also deeply involved in her community, contributing her time and energy to the Bellevue United Methodist Church, where she participated actively in the BUMC food bank, showing her devotion to helping those in need.

As a member of her church, Jeanine connected with others through shared faith and fellowship, embodying a spirit of kindness that touched the lives of many. Her dedication to her family and her community remained at the center of her life, leaving a mark that continues to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30 am, with interment immediately following. All services will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Judes Children Hospital and the Bellevue UMC Food Bank in Jeanine’s honor.

The family would like to offer our deepest gratitude and sincerest thanks for all the cards, calls, flowers, notes, messages, food and love poured upon Jeanine and our family in the last few weeks. You have shown us the love of Jesus. We extend a special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga for their wonderful care.
