In Loving Memory of William (Kris) Bruce Stewart
April 6, 1947 – October 12, 2025
William (Kris) Bruce Stewart, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud veteran of the United States Navy, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born in Hohenwald, Tennessee, Kris graduated from Central High School, Class of 1965, and later earned his degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy, an experience that shaped his strong character, discipline, and deep respect for others.
Kris was a devoted member of Woodmont Christian Church, where he found joy and fellowship with his men's group, affectionately known as "The Geezers." He was known for his curiosity, his thoughtful questions, and his ability to bring smiles to everyone around him.
He enjoyed golfing, watching TV, riding his bike, and walking by the lake with his wife and their dog, Snoopy. Above all, he was a family man, deeply devoted to those he loved. His kindness, humor, and warmth touched every life he encountered, and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Stewart; his son, Kristopher Stewart, and wife Tammy Stewart; his stepdaughter, Stephanie Wagner, and husband Doug Wagner; and his daughter, Melanie Graham. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Cole Stewart, Callie Briggs and husband Thomas Briggs, Chloe Graham, and great-granddaughter Carlie Briggs.
Kris memory will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends who will cherish the laughter, love, and light he shared throughout his life. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of William ( Kris) Bruce Stewart, please visit our floral store.
