Jeanne Patricia Gerding, 62, passed away after a lengthy illness on June 9th, 2023 in Cape Coral, Florida. She was born on August 19th, 1960 in Ottawa, Illinois. Jeanne graduated from Ottawa High School.
Jeanne is survived by her fiancé Jim Gregg as well as her brothers James (Linda) Gerding, Mike (Kathy) Gerding, sisters Marianne (Randy) Perino, and Barb (Tom) Churchill, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Pat Gerding, and brother John Gerding.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pet Projects or any animal shelter of the donor's choice.

Just learned of her passing. She was an amazing person who cared about so many people. I met Jeanne through her Mom , Pat who I worked with. She was so special to me just as her mom was. So glad we had alot of chats and she shared my passion of music. She cheered me up when nobody else could. I am glad to call her friend and am glad she is now at peace with family and friends. So saddened by the loss of Jeanne. We met when she came to Utica and the connection was made. We shared the same birth month and year the sign was made we shared much more. The laughter was overwhelming when we were together. Forever my Red Lobster buddy. R. I. P. My friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Jeanne´s passing. We go way back like 1973. Her family was one of the first people I met when we moved to Ottawa. The last 50 years it was always off and on but always picked up where we left off. The last time we spoke was probably December 2022. Rest easy my friend

I met Jeanne when I was 14 years old at OTHS. We had many classes together and although we ran in different circles there was always a connection of deep unspoken friendship.
We later reconnected on FB and the last time we talked it was, as always, deep and meaningful conversation.
I cannot say enough about how lovely and loving she was. I also loved the fact that she was never afraid to tell people her opinions and if they didn´t agree she didn´t care.
Jeanne was always A Free Spirit.
Rest in peace my friend. I am a richer person for having known you.
