Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Jeanne Milligan Koplin passed from this life at home in West Jordan on May 13, 2025 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and all six of her children when she died.
Jeanne was born February 15, 1960 in Pomona, California to Gordon Paul Milligan and Gloria Creager Milligan. She grew up in Carmichael, California and graduated from Del Campo High School in 1978 and attended American River College. She was mostly a stay-at-home mom which she loved but also worked briefly as a legal secretary, a postal encoder, a hospital housekeeper and for the last nine years for the University of Utah Women's Health. She was often recognized numerous times there as being the most outstanding and distinguished employee in her service group.
Jeanne met the love of her life Michael L. Koplin in Carmichael when she was almost four years old and he was six years old. Shortly after high school they met up again and after a brief courtship, they were married on August 10, 1979 in the Oakland Temple. Together they built a beautiful life and family. She brought 6 children into the world; they were her joys in life and she was blessed to be a stay-at-home mother most of the time where she loved to cook and bake for everyone gathered around her table. She is known for her delicious meals and breads that she baked and gave out to the whole neighborhood.
Some of Jeanne's favorite hobbies were sewing, cooking, backpacking and camping with her whole family. Some of her favorite places included Glacier National Park, Lake Tahoe and the forests of Idaho. She had a green thumb and could grow any fruit, veggie and flower in her large garden. Spring was her favorite time when all her flowers would begin to bloom and bring color back into the world, she took so much pride in her flower garden they were always so pristine. She also loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She loved when they would come to visit and bring all their laughter into her home but also loved the quiet serenity when they left to go home and the house was once again quiet.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Paul and Gloria Creager Milligan, sisters Janice Milligan, Marianne Milligan.
She is survived by her sister, Judy Doss and three brothers, her husband, Michael Koplin, her children, Heather (Chris) Rowe, Janelle (Bill) Kisow, Michelle (Gary) Layman, Spencer (Elisabeth) Koplin, Megan (Kyle) Criddle, Gregory (Kaileen) Koplin. Grandchildren: Elijah, Alison, Vincent, Hannah, Scarlett, Julie, Roman, Charlotte, Rebecca, Norah, Leif, Isla Grace, and Arabella.
