Jeanne Lyman Rigby passed away on July 17, 2025. She was born August 8, 1934, in Murray Utah to Maurice Lyman and Inez Merl Shaw accompanied by her wombmate Joanne. She married Gaylen Rigby in the Salt Lake Temple on March 26, 1954.
Her work career began in surgery at the U of U Hospital with Dr. James Parkin and residents. Then with Dr. Jerry Sonkens and Dr. Randall Swenson. She then moved across the country and worked at Alleghany General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Upon returning to Salt Lake she finished her career at the U of U same day surgical unit. She loved working with the doctors.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband Gaylen, her parents, brothers Maurice, Emerson, John and sisters Virgina Anderson, Audra Stephens, Hortense Briggs, and her daughter in law Lois. She is survived by her twin Joanne Rigby, sons Randy, Wayne (JoyLyn), and Allyn, and 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A visitation celebration will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens on 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Larkin Sunset Garden Cemetery.
At Jeanne's request, "no flowers, take a friend to lunch".
