Rev. Dr. Jeannie Marie Beighley, age 80, passed away, Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield. She was born on March 27, 1945 in Hornell, New York to the late Clayton Kent and Flossie Jelliff Kent.
Jeannie was a 1963 graduate of Canisteo Central High School. She went on to receive a Masters Degree in Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1997 and a Ph.D. in Theology from Transylvania Bible School in 2011. Jeannie was a dedicated United Methodist Pastor. She pastored Struthers United Methodist Church in Struthers, Ohio from 1997-2003 and Chesterville United Methodist Church in Chesterville, Ohio from 2003-2012. Jeannie was very passionate about serving the congregations she was privileged to lead.
In her free time she loved to sew and worked her way through college doing clothing alterations. She also loved to garden, can vegetables, read and attend bible studies. Jeannie also enjoyed being at home with her beloved cats. Keeping her home meticulously clean was very important to her. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church.
She will be fondly remembered by her children, Suzanne (Mark) Tomasi, of Omaha, Nebraska and Steven (Erin) Winters of Delaware, Ohio; her granddaughter, Adelyne Tomasi; her sister, Mary Carr of Campbell, New York. She also leaves behind two nieces, Yvonne Jones of Newcastle, Oklahoma and Theresa Pratt of Elmira, New York.
Jeannie's family is planning a celebration of life in the summer of 2026.
