She loved animals/pets, reading non-fiction books (especially stories about animals), quilting, and doll collecting,. Her hands were rarely still, as she was always engaged in needlework, tending to her abundant garden, or preserving the fruits of her labor through canning, freezing jams, and pickles. Her creative soul also found expression in writing, with her poetry and short stories capturing the beauty of the world around her. Two of her poems were published, a proud accomplishment that she humbly shared with her loved ones.
