Jeannine Wise Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Danekas Funeral Chapel & Crematory - Colville on Aug. 12, 2025.

October 17, 1950 – July 30, 2025

Jeannine L. Wise, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 30th, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, faith, and creativity touched the lives of many.

Born in Spokane on October 17th, 1950 to Genevieve Yendes (Duclos) and William Yendes, she became known to most simply as Jean. She devoted her life to caring for others, both as a homemaker when her daughters were young and later, in her career as a dedicated Surgical Technician at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chewelah. Her gentle spirit and compassionate heart made her a natural in her profession and in her many roles in life.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Jean was an active member of St. Mary of the Rosary Church in Chewelah, where she sang in the choir, served on the church council, and participated in numerous community and church events. Her spiritual devotion was matched by her generosity and creativity, most notably through her passion for sewing. Jean was well known for her handmade fabric purses-especially those featuring Gonzaga Bulldogs and Seattle Seahawks designs-which she lovingly shared with friends and fans. She also found great joy in quilting and creating beautiful table runners and blankets for her grandchildren, but her greatest passion was making prayer shawls for special recipients through her church-each one a labor of love and comfort.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-nine years, Michael H. Wise. She is survived by her daughters, Amy (Darren) Lawler and Sarah (Sean) Boyd; her cherished granddaughters, Madigan, Leah, Megan, and Hailey; and her sisters, Jody and Pat. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and creativity will live on through the many lives she touched.

A Rosary service will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Valley, WA on August 20th at 9:30 am, followed by the funeral Mass at 10:00 am. The internment for both Jean and Michael Wise (who passed away in November of 2024) will be held directly following the mass at Chewelah Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon at St. Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church in Chewelah, will be held immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary of the Rosary Church, or simply honor Jean by offering a prayer or a kind deed in her memory.
