Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornejo Funeral Home & Crematory - Wellington on Jan. 9, 2025.
Jeff Ferguson, a lifelong resident of
Wellington, Kansas, passed away on January 7, 2025 at the age of 77. Born on November 26, 1947, Jeff lived a life full of wit, compassion, and dedication. As the longtime sales manager at AutoMart, he had a knack for turning customers into friends, always ready with a hearty laugh, a supportive word, or a tip on the best auto parts for their cars. For over 40 years, Jeff was the engine that kept AutoMart running smoothly, and his passion for the job never ceased to shine.
Jeff was known, not just for his professional dedication, but also for his personal interests. He was a bonafide "car guy", always eager to tinker on cars or to rave about his favorite, the 1931 Model A Ford. His enthusiasm and leadership as the president of the Sumner County Antique Tractor Association (SCATA), and his active role in the Kansas Wheat Festival, were appreciated by many. In fact, it was this love for cars and antique tractors that led to him helping coordinate the mini pedal pulls for kids during the tractor pulls along with the annual car show of the Kansas Wheat Festival. Above all else, however, Jeff's heart was dedicated to his family, his grandkids, great-grandkids, and of course, his beloved dogs. He was a firm believer in being respectful and kind to everyone whether or not they returned the same level of respect. Jeff will be missed and remembered by all that knew and loved him.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Georgetta Ferguson, his daughters: Amy Norris (Tommy) of Wellington, Angie Davis (Ray) of Mayfield, and Rachel Ferguson (Russell Rains) of Wellington; his beloved grandchildren: DJ Pabst (Alex) of Wichita, Shannon Davis (David Fisher) of Augusta, Payton Baker (Avery) of Goddard, Sage Ferguson (Kaylene Neal) of Wellington, Dylan Ferguson-Lira (Taylor) of Wellington, Cohl Davis (Janet) of Mayfield, Adrienne Norris of Wellington, Kolbi Humphrey of Wellington, Adison Davis (Zach Potter) of Haysville, Blake Humphrey of Wellington, Justin Norris of Wellington, Wade Davis, Judson Davis, Ryana Davis, Emma Davis, and Caleb Davis all of Mayfield; 13 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Billy Ferguson (Pam) of Wellington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jason and Neva Ferguson; daughter, Dana Pabst, and a brother, Gary Ferguson.
There will be a celebration of Jeff's life from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Raymond Frye Complex,
Wellington, KS. This is a come and go event for friends and family to gather and remember his life.
