Jeff Lamb Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 3, 2024.
Jeffrey C Lamb
Spreckles
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jeffrey C Lamb at the age of 67. Jeff, with his ever-present smile, kind and peaceful demeanor, generous heart, endless patience, and steadfast dedication, was the President and CEO of the Police Activities League at the time of his death. He started on the PAL Board in 2016 and his unwavering devotion to the principles of the PAL organization led him to his leadership role there. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and his colleagues.
Jeff was born in 1956 at the old Monterey Hospital on Hartnell Street in Monterey, CA. He was the tenth child of Ann Catherine Lamb (Casati) and Alton E. Lamb, Sr. He attended San Carlos School for his elementary education, went on to Fremont Junior High School and then attended Monterey High School and graduated in 1974.
At the age of 17 Jeff started a window-washing business on the Monterey Peninsula. At first, he had to do a real selling job of his skills to the numerous businesses he solicited but soon word of mouth led to many more businesses eager to do business with him. His meticulous care for his client's properties generated much respect for this young entrepreneur.
In 1979 Jeff began work at National Semiconductor for the next 33 years. He spent numerous of those years as the Director of Worldwide Security Operations.Jeff also served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office from January 1980 through December 1987.
In 2011 Jeff became the owner of a TCBY franchise in Salinas next to the Maya Theater. Jeff started another business in this same location which became the Farm Fresh Deli.
Jeff became a Court Appointed Special Advocate for CASA in December of 2012 until December of 2014.
Jeff then volunteered, beginning in 2015, with Independent Transportation Network Monterey County (ITN) providing arm-through-arm, door-through-door transportation for older people. Jeff was on the Board of Director's for ITN until his passing.
Jeff also worked for several years as a Community Service Officer for the Monterey Police Department.
He worked for the Monterey County Environmental Health Department from August 2020 until June of 2021. He was tasked with enforcement and education of Face Mask Protocols put in place by the California State Public Health Department and implemented in Monterey County during Covid-19.
Jeff is survived by his two sons: Jeffrey Jr. (Whitney) of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Anthony (Katie) of Carmel. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy Lamb and Jennifer Lamb (his twin sister) of Carmel Highlands, his brothers Alton Jr. (Amelia) of Georgetown, TX; Douglas of Marina; Dale (Kat) of Seaside; and Charlie (Lisa) of Kaysville, UT. He also leaves 18 nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents Ann and Alton (Bud) Lamb and two of his seven brothers, Earl known as "Buddy" and Darrell as well as his sister Mary Lamb.
There will be a Catholic Requiem Funeral Mass Tuesday, January 9th, at 9:30 AM at San Carlos Cathedral, 500 Church Street, Monterey with burial at the San Carlos Catholic Cemetery, 792 Fremont Street, Monterey following the Mass. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Salinas PAL Center beginning at 1 PM after the funeral and burial services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Jeff's memory to the Police Activities League, PO Box 88, Salinas, CA 93902 to continue his commitment and dedication to the young people and the programs of PAL or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Independent Transportation Network of Monterey County (ITN) 236 Monterey St. Salinas, CA 93901, or any organization of the donor's choice.

I shall miss my very best friend, long time coworker. Jeff was a giver, a supporter of children, elderly, the ill, disadvantaged, those in need at work, in his community,& his family. Jeff always put others first, quietly, effectively, personally. He graciously, tirelessly provided his personal support, assisted thousands of people, whose lives have been bettered as a result. Whatever cause, organization, charity, community outreach Jeff supported, became
better, more effective, stronger, resilient and grew to help others. Jeff was a mentor to many disadvantaged youth, he uplifted them, believed in them, taught them how to believe in themselves and to carry on his mission, of helping and empowering others.

Let us all continue to pursue Jeff's purpose, mission in life by continue to serve, assist others in our neighborhood, groups, schools, charitable organizations and our neighbors, to continue Jeff's giving, supporting spirit.
The world is a smaller without Jeff Lamb in it.
I shall miss my best friend, but will always remember him and honor his spirit and legacy by assisting others in need, like I learned from Jeff.

To a life well lived...

I met Jeff when Jennifer (his twin) introduced us at his TCBY store. Charming and has all the characteristics hard working, devotion, caring and loving as Jenn. Just like 2 peas in a pod.
May GOD grant you, Jenn, Cathy, family and friends comfort, peace, laughter and tears as you take each step forward.
With Our Love Hugs and Prayers
