Jefferey (Jeff) Sauvageau of Horace, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2024, at the age of 66 doing what he loved, putting up the hay.
Jeff was born February 2, 1958, to Guy and Velma Sauvageau. Jeff Graduated from West Fargo High School in 1976.
Jeff started working at American Crystal Sugar at the age of 18 and continued for 40 years and Agri Resources for 5 years before retiring for health reasons.
He married Deanna Bruse on September 20, 1980, at Horace Lutheran Church, Horace ND. They have 2 sons Justin and Eric, and 1 granddaughter Emma who was his pride and Joy.
Jeff was a member of Fort Ransom Sod Buster. He participated in the Red River Centennial Wagon train in 1989. He rode his horse from Fort Abercrombie ND to Bismarck ND alongside his father-in-law and his team of horses.
Jeff lived a simple life, he enjoyed his horses and putting up hay, his recliner in the basement, and tinkering around his farm.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Deanna, 2 sons Justin and Eric, and granddaughter Emma. 1 brother Scott (Robin) Lakota ND, and 5 sisters Sandy Fargo ND, Karen (Roy) Ingebretson Fargo ND, Lori Valley City ND, Darlene (Kim) Larson Harwood ND, Sue (Larry) Liberty Billings, MT. In-laws' mother-in-law Donna Bruse, Ladonn (Dan) Lisburg, Kevin (Connie) Bruse, Barb Bruse, Jan (Oscar) Tronnes, Julie (Steve) Palmer. Many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Velma Sauvageau, and father-in-law Clarence Bruse.
The family wishes you dress comfortably, flannel preferred.
Visitation: Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Prayer Service: Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 7:00 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Funeral Service: Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Horace Lutheran Church, Horace, ND.
Interment: Monday, July 1, 2024 around 2:00 PM at Horace Lutheran Cemetery, Horace, ND.
