Jefferson "Jeff" Posey Tye went to be with his Lord on Wednesday June 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be 2:00 PM Sunday June 22, 2025, at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd. Macon, Georgia. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation, one hour prior to services. Immediately following Jeff will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Hollis Jr. will be officiating all services.
Jeff was born July 31, 1941, in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. Hugh Thomas Tye and Mrs. Annie Weeks Tye. He lived a life full of heart, joy, and purpose. A proud patriot, he served his country with honor for ten years in the National Guard. His deep faith guided him, and as a member of Byron Baptist Church, he lived out his love for the Lord every day. Jeff was a true Southern sports fan, cheering passionately for the Braves and the Bulldogs. A gifted woodworker, he found joy in crafting with his hands, and his love of travel took him to favorite spots like Hawaii and Las Vegas. Jeff's sense of humor was infectious, he especially loved good jokes, and his laughter was a gift to all who knew him. He was a smart, well-read man who never met a stranger, always warm and welcoming. Above all, Jeff was a loving, caring family man, amazing with kids, always ready to play, dance, and bring smiles. His legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Tye, James Tye, Grady Tye, Johnny Tye, Clarence Tye, Henry Tye; sisters, Billie Jean Ball, and Marshlyn Baker.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Patsy Keen Tye; son, Kenneth Tye; daughter, Karen (Rob) Aromatorio; brother, Harrold (Sandra) Tye; four grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, he held dear to his heart; numerous cousins, and extended family.
