Jefferson Burroughs Covey was born on June 20th 1935, to the late Louise & Wilbur Covey and he departed this life on May 14th 2014 after a lengthy illness with his wife Patricia Allen Alston Covey by his side. He went peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Jefferson attended the Bridgeton Public School Systems and graduated from Bridgeton High School. Later in life he joined the United States Air Force and after he completed his tour of duty, he attended Community College in Chicago, IL.
He worked for Harper Community College as a Computer Control Tech until his health failed. He was in charge of keeping the computers running.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Patricia Allen Alston Covey, stepdaughter Pauline Allen, Selena Alston, stepsons: Kenneth, Ronald Allen and Henry Alston (his sidekick), grandsons: Kyle and Keevis Allen, daughters: Janet and Mona Lisa Covey, sister Shirley Boone and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Louise and father Wilbur Covey, son Jefferson Covey, Jr., daughter Constance Covey, sisters: Lillian Harris, June Hughes, and Rose Green.
