Jeffery John Hitchcock

Jeffery John Hitchcock, 65, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2025. Born on May 8, 1960, in Napa, California, Jeff was known for his big heart, quick wit, and deep love for music, the outdoors, and family traditions.
Jeffery worked in commercial maintenance, where his reliability and work ethic made a lasting impression on those around him. He was a lifelong concert enthusiast and devoted fan of classic rock. His favorite bands included KISS, AC/DC, Def Leppard, ZZ Top, and Journey. One of his most cherished memories was attending AC/DC's last concert in Nashville, Tennessee. Jeffery collected concert t-shirts from the shows he attended, each one a souvenir of a night spent surrounded by music and energy. When not rocking out, Jeffery loved fishing, boating, and camping, especially on Lake Monroe or Hardy Lake. A true outdoorsman, he found peace and joy in the water and woods. He also had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, with a special fondness for his 2009 Heritage Softail, which he rode with pride.
Jeff was incredibly sharp and a master of trivia, often showing off his skills in games of Trivial Pursuit. Perhaps most famously, Jeff was the keeper of the secret fried turkey recipe that became the highlight of every Thanksgiving gathering. Jeffery will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
Left behind to cherish Jeffery's memory are his children, Justin (Tabitha) Hitchcock, Nick Hitchcock, and Christina Hitchcock; grandchildren, Kyren, Braxin, Jakope, Ryder, Rex, Kyha, Parker, and Brittany; great-grandson, Zyden; brother, Stan Hitchcock; the mother of his children, Deborah Hitchcock; his beloved dogs Tankerton and Mazey and his cat, Bobcat.
He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Max Robert and Elsie Alberta (Williams) Hitchcock; his son, Jacob Colton Hitchcock; and siblings, Betty Ann, Susan, Tom, and Rob.
Funeral services for Jeffery will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. Pastor Angel Armstrong will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
