Jeffery Jacobs Obituary

Jeffrey Jacobs, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 8, 2025, at the age of 79. A man of deep love, quiet strength, and enduring faith, Jeffrey touched the lives of all who knew him with his warm smile, generous spirit, and unshakable devotion to his family.

Jeffrey was born on December 9, 1945, to Jessie Mae Graham Toney and the late James Jacobs, Sr. in St. Joe, Louisiana. He was raised in a home grounded in faith, love, and community. From a young age, Jeffrey exhibited a natural charm and southern hospitality that made him a friend to all. He never met a stranger—just people he hadn’t had the pleasure of talking to yet.

A devoted family man, Jeffrey was united in marriage to his lifelong sweetheart, Cassondra Bowman Jacobs. Their love stood the test of time and was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew them. Through their beautiful union, they were blessed with three children: Desiree Jacobs Prout (Samuel Prout), Jeffrey Jesus Jacobs, and Enjess Tamara Jacobs. Jeffrey also opened his heart fully as a proud and loving stepfather to Nikola Coleman (Kevin Coleman).

Jeffrey's love extended beyond his immediate family into the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride. His legacy lives on in their laughter, values, and memories they carry forward. He was a man of few words and many actions—steady, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand or share a moment of wisdom. Whether sitting on the porch sharing stories or stepping in to help those in need, Jeffrey's presence was both comforting and strong. He was often the quiet strength in the room and the loudest cheerleader when it came to the successes of his children and grandchildren.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Jessie Mae Graham Toney, his father James Jacobs, Sr., his brother James Jacobs, Jr., and several cherished relatives who welcomed him into eternal rest.

He leaves behind his loving wife Cassondra, his children Desiree (Samuel), Jeffrey Jesus, Enjess Tamara, and Nikola (Kevin), a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, devoted siblings, extended family, and dear friends whose lives were forever blessed by his love.

A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, and on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Doyle's Funeral Home, 2430 4th St., Slidell, LA 70458. In the meantime, the family welcomes your prayers, fond memories, and reflections as they honor the legacy of a remarkable man who lived a life of purpose, dignity, and love.
