Jeffrey M. Anderson, 46, of West Lafayette, IN, passed away on March 9, 2023. Jeffrey was born to Michael T. and Lynn A. (Fields) Anderson on August 19, 1976, at Carswell AFB, in Fort Worth, Texas. Jeff graduated from Harrison High School, WL in 1993, was accepted into the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 1994, to study classical guitar and graduated from Purdue University in 2003. Jeff was a guitar instructor for the Applied Music Studies program at Purdue University for 18 years and taught guitar to countless children as well as adults at McGuire Music and privately for 30 years. Jeff sang and played guitar locally at the Blue Fin and The Ichiban Patio, but called The Sportsman Inn of Monticello his home. Jeff's favorite audiences were the residents of nearly every assisted living facility in Tippecanoe County. He was also a certified scuba diver. Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Lynn, brother Jeremy (Jessica) of Newport, WA, bonus Dad, Bob Inman, cuz/bro, Jonathan Fields, six nieces and one nephew, two godchildren, Uncle Mike Fields (Janet), Uncle John Fields, Aunt Cyndy Shafer, Uncle Philip Anderson and Aunt Patsy Niswonger, as well as 12 other cousins. Jeff is also survived by several brothers and sisters of music and friendship. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Michael, grandparents, Bob and Ann Fields and Tom and Alpha Anderson, Uncle Dave Fields and cousin, Patrick Anderson. Also Charlie and Charlotte. A private family service will be held at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with Dr. Will Miller, speaking, and a Celebration of Life for all his friends will be scheduled for a later date. We know the death of this brilliant musician and friend is an enormous loss to everyone who loved Jeff. He made such a joyful noise, his gift for us to keep forever. Contributions may be made to any music program in the greater Lafayette area, Greater Lafayette Civic Theater and Food Finders Food Bank.

We love you brother and miss you every day. Your music was a blessing to hear but the true blessing was you. Every day will have an empty spot in it because you are gone. Thank you for the memories.....you are forever etched in our hearts. I will never forget fishing, late nights listening to you play, Indy, the late night plane ride, the cruise, you always making sure to make Hudsons birthday parties, or just me you and Kelly hanging out. I love you buddy. I miss you. Love you Aunt Lynn and Bob and we are always here for you as well. As for everyone who sees this or reads this please listen to a song of Jeffs sit back and remember the amazing person he was and let him live on through us all.

I was lucky to have known Jeff for a decade, as an instructor and as a friend. He was a great man and an incredibly talented musician. His unique musicianship cannot be replaced, but his sound lives on through his students. Lynn, my thoughts are with you and the rest of the family as you grieve.

My heart was so very saddened when I heard of Jeff's passing. Such a kind, loving, patient and talented Man. I am so thankful to have known Jeff as a friend and music instructor. His patience never ever failed to amaze me. My prayers continue to be with Lynn, Bob and Family. I remember Dr Will saying how very sad for those left behind but how peaceful and comforting to know of the open loving arms of Heaven, it must now be even a more beautiful place.

Such a talent! Jeff was a regular pre-show performer at Civic Theatre. In Sept 2019, we were thrilled when he accepted a role as the town troubadour in our production of To Kill a Mockingbird, directed by TJ Rosa who was a friend and former student. TJ created the additional role with Jeff in mind. He wrote original music for the show and gave a stellar performance! Our hearts and love go out to his family; especially his loving mother, Lynn. We miss you, Jeff! Your talent and music will not be forgotten. RIP.

Dear Jeff,

I cherish the summer you asked me to play the Taste of Tippecanoe with you. I am grateful for the conversations we had traveling to Indy for rehearsal with Dave a few nights per week discussing heady topics like literature. I am truly sorry that all the busy routines of life got in the way, but I am grateful for your friendship.
Rest in peace.
