Jeffrey Bachofner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Threadgill's Memorial Services, LLC on Jan. 19, 2026.
After a valiant fight with cancer, Jeffrey L. Bachofner went to his heavenly place of rest on Friday, Jan 9, while at home in hospice care. Jeff was born in 1951 in Portland, the first of five, brought into this world by Mervin and Betty (Pierce) Bachofner. Being the eldest, he taught his parents the exciting aspects of child rearing. The family moved to a large home on River Road where Jeff thrived within his loving family. He graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1969.

Jeff loved sports and all things related to golf. He was also a whiz with computers. He acquired this tech knowledge at DeVry University in Pheonix, Arizona where he also met his future wife, Heidi Embach. They married in Portland in 1980 and moved to Tigard in 1987. Children followed. Simon and David were his pride and joy. He was a family man, throwing baseballs, playing legos, and avidly following the boys' high school and college sports endeavors.

Jeff had a great sense of humor and was able and willing to laugh at his own missteps. This was a necessary skill when dealing with computers. He liked working for small companies, embracing the family atmosphere and lack of bureaucracy, so his career took him to many start- ups in the electronics industry. His last stop was CCComplete, a balloting company in which he was responsible for maintaining the hardware and networks. He was a laid back, reliable fellow, never giving in to panic in the most chaotic moments.

Reading was one of his fondest pastimes, especially sci-fi as well as playing and watching the sport of golf. He played with the SAPS league on a weekly basis.

Jeff also relished time and adventures with friends, especially the PBR group. So many memories were accrued through boating trips, golf outings and special gatherings. In his later years Jeff picked up a trowel and shears and brought bounty to the garden. We will miss his quiet, loving nature and his steadfast presence.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Heidi, sons Simon (Ola) grandkids Tayla and Trey and David (Emily) and grandchild, Avery. He also leaves behind siblings, Mark (Judy) Bachofner, Jeanne (Glenn) Hoerr, Rick (April) Bachofner, Bill (Carol) Bachofner along with many nieces and nephews.
