Jeffrey M. Bates

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. Let us remember with Thanksgiving what God has done through his servant Jeffrey Murl Bates.
Jeffrey Murl Bates, son of Murl Bates and Amy Manka was born in San Bernardino, California on May 8th, 1970. He was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit on December 6th, 2009. He confessed his baptismal faith in the rite of Confirmation on the same date and was admitted to the altar to receive the medicine of immortality, Christ's life-giving body and blood. On October 17th, 2023, Jeffrey, at the age of 53 years, fell asleep in Jesus.
He is survived by his beloved children Ethan Bates, Evan Bates, and Emily Bates, and his sister Tammy Wiener (Steve). He is predeceased by his parents Murl and Amy. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.
Jeff will be remembered for his selfless, forgiving attitude. Regardless of the difficulty he was facing he remained positive in his outlook on life. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ made this possible. He was constant in prayer and willingly sacrificed for the good of others, especially his children.
The Lord gives in the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our brother Jeff.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 20, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lockwood, Missouri. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery, Everton, MO.
