Jeffrey Joe Bury, 58, of Peoria, IL, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Peoria.
He was born on November 7, 1966, in Peoria, IL, to Madelyn Joyce Brem and Joseph Edward Bury.
He is survived by his children, Kelcie (Scott) Stevens of East Peoria, IL; Jesse Bury of Peoria, and Lexie Bury of Peoria; and by his eight beloved grandchildren: Hayden Fullen, Jayce Stevens, Logan Bury, Ava Bury, Olivia Bury, Ariyah Bury, Isiah Bury, and Christopher Bury. Also surviving are his siblings: Pam Dangler and Dave (Margie) Bury of Warner Robins, GA; Paula (Mike) Keturi of East Peoria, IL; Cindy Hawotte of Washington, IL; and Mark Bury of Peoria, IL; along with many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one brother-in-law, Ron Hawotte.
Jeff was an amazing chef with a true passion for creative cooking. He had a deep love for animals, a lifelong appreciation for music, and was a devoted Detroit Lions fan. Jeff dedicated his life to caring for animals, friends, and family. He opened his home and his heart to many over the years, offering kindness, support, and love to anyone in need. Above all, Jeff's greatest joy came from caring for his children, grandchildren, and his mother. Known for his enormous heart and unwavering loyalty, Jeff touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His family and friends will dearly miss him.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Faith Church, 2254 Hollands Grove Road, in Washington, IL. A Celebration of Life will follow on Sunday, October 26. 2025, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Hangovers, in Peoria, IL. Donations in Jeff's memory may be made to TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter in Pekin, IL.
