Jeffrey Alan Duncan of
Saint Cloud, FL, born to Carol Streeper (Phifer) and Jay Duncan on April 28, 1961 in
Red Bank, NJ, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by family and friends on February 6, 2026. He is survived by his love, Samantha (Brown), his three sons, Jeffrey Jr. (Duncan), Gary (Duncan), Zachary (Duncan), and his grandson Jeffrey III (Duncan).
To his family and dearest friends he will always be Jeff. He will be remembered for living gregariously. He was the life of the party. Family get-togethers were vivacious, fun, and vibrant. Jeff was a man who wanted to see smiles on the faces around him. Jeff had many loves: the NY Football Giants, the NY Mets, the NY Yankees, and the era of 1980's music. His greatest loves were his three sons, Jeffrey Jr., Gary, and Zach. Any mention of their names and he lit up with pride and joy. He enjoyed spending holidays and birthdays with them, but Football Funday Sundays with them were so special. While he always said he was too young to be a grandfather, he love watching his grandson Jeffrey III, who he often referred to as "3.0", grow up. Bubba loved his 3.0.
Jeff also loved radio. For decades he was best known by the radio industry and listeners as "Doc Holliday." Jeff knew from his teenage years that radio was going to be his profession. He was a master of his craft and an entertainer to the end. His first on-air experience was at Willingboro High School in
Willingboro, NJ where he began to learn the ropes of radio broadcasting. His professional career began later on in
Atlantic City, NJ before helping to build Top 40 stations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic radio markets. Under the "Doc Holliday" name, he later worked at Eagle 106 in
Philadelphia, PA and eventually made
Orlando, FL his home with his 17 year run at XL 106.7 on the "Doc and Johnny Morning Show." In 2007 he joined Orlando's country music station K92 FM with his friend and local radio personality Grace Vasquez and their producer Mark Hlavin, affectionately know as "Skid the Producer." When you asked Jeff about his radio career he never failed to tell you how radio legend and his hero Scott Shannon greeted him at a records and radio convention with "There's the guy with the best pipes in the business. How are you Doc?" Jeff told his then intern at that moment "Alex! You are my only witness of what Scott said." No one will ever forget this moment, ever.
Jeff used his microphone to promote local artists such as NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys, Mandy Moore, and O-Town and help jump start their careers as well as being influential in establishing the XL106.7 Baby DJ Fund to assure that no family went without during the holiday season. This charity is now a 501.3C and continues today, expanding beyond just the holidays.
Beyond radio, Jeff was the stadium announcer for The Predators, Orlando's arena football team, the announcer for the final season of Nickelodeon's Family Double Dare and was an instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
Our family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Kissimmee and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of St. Cloud for providing care, comfort and spiritual support as Jeff made his journey home to be with the Lord.
Jeff passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance at https://impact.ccalliance.org/fundraiser/6978361
