Jeffrey Howard Goldstein
February 7, 1943 – October 21, 2025
Jeffrey Howard Goldstein, 82, of Apollo Beach, Florida, formerly of Randolph, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home on October 21, 2025.
Born on February 7, 1943, in Boston, Massachusetts, Jeffrey was the son of the late Anne (Kahn) Goldstein and Jacob Leo Goldstein. He was preceded in death by his brother Barry Goldstein.
Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Goldstein; his loving daughter, Sandra (Sandi) Goldstein Cooper and her husband, Shay Cooper; and his three adored grandchildren, Maytal, Lia, and Daniel Cooper. He also leaves behind his sister, Deb Goldstein and her wife, Julie Levesque; his sister-in-law, Kathy Devaney Goldstein; his beloved dog, Teddy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A lifelong salesman in the auto parts industry, Jeff had a genuine "can-do" attitude that defined his life. Whether selling, fixing, or teaching, he approached everything with patience, skill, and a readiness to help.
Jeff grew up in a happy home with parents that loved each other and was constantly surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, first in Dorchester, and later in Brookline. He spent countless hours at the playground with friends and cherished summers in Nantasket with his extended family. As the oldest cousin, Jeff took great pride in his role and tried throughout his life to stay connected with as many family members as he could.
He loved boating, fishing, gardening, golfing, skiing in his younger years, and sitting in the sun-especially when surrounded by family. In Randolph, he had a large garden where his grandchildren loved to pick the vegetables when they came to visit. When he and Joan moved to Florida, Jeff made sure his new yard flourished, too-never happier than when everything was growing and well-watered.
Jeff and Joan were more than husband and wife; they were good friends. Joan often rode along with Jeff on his sales routes, especially on trips into scenic New Hampshire towns, happily chatting while he drove and she knitted. They loved spending time together on their boat, aptly named Dream On, and after moving to Florida, they enjoyed exploring the surroundings of their new home. They also delighted in walking in nature with their dog Teddy and visiting dog parks, where they would make new friends, both two- and four-legged.
As a father, Jeff was amazing and always involved. He coached his daughter's softball team, was deeply engaged with her USY group, and could always be found chaperoning trips and dances or welcoming her friends into the family home-treating them all as if they were his own. He was always ready with advice, a ride, or a helping hand, doing everything he could to make sure Sandi had everything she needed and more. Jeff was also quick to praise the accomplishments of his entire family-both immediate and extended. If you did something fabulous, he would tell anyone who would listen.
Jeff was a proud, hands-on grandfather. Every Wednesday, without fail, he and Joan cared for their grandchildren-no matter their age or activity. He happily drove carpools, cheered from the sidelines at practices, rehearsals, meets, games, and performances, and loved every moment spent being part of their lives.
Known for his ability to work with his hands and his abundant knowledge of how things worked, Jeff was always ready to lend a hand. If he didn't know how to do something, he'd figure it out-and then show you how to do it, step by step.
In Florida, Jeff found joy in his community-playing poker with friends, joining games of dominoes and mahjong, and taking part in water aerobics when he could. He loved detective and spy novels, especially those by James Patterson, and could often be found reading in the sunshine.
Jeff was a devoted husband who took care of his wife with love and loyalty through all of life's seasons. Moving to Florida was his dream, and his family is deeply thankful he was able to enjoy that chapter to the fullest.
A natural teacher, patient listener, and kind soul, Jeffrey will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his helpful nature, and the way he made everyone feel like family.
