Jeffrey L. Goodman

MIDDLEVILLE – Jeffrey L. Goodman, 77, of State Route 28, passed away on October 19, 2025, at MVHS Wynn Hospital, Utica.
Mr. Goodman was born on May 28, 1948, in Little Falls, a son of the late Lewis and Edith (Young) Goodman. He graduated from West Canada Valley Central School in 1967. Jeff first worked for the Town of Fairfield Highway Department for a few years followed by employment with Cook Fence and Valley Tractor. For 35 years, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Herkimer County Highway Department, from where he retired. On June 18, 1983, Jeffrey was united in marriage with the former Sharon L. (Wells) Mower at Morehouse Lake. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2018. Jeff was a member of the Morehouse Lake Club and was a former member of the Middleville Volunteer Fire Department for a few years.
Survivors include three step-children, Patricia (Michael) Hillman of Newport, Bonnie (James) Mower-Elwood of Newport, and Thomas Mower of Little Falls; two brothers, Gregory (Bob) Goodman of VA and Gary (Patricia) Goodman of Newport; seven step-grandchildren, Michael and Steven Hillman, Rachelle Gross, Regis Cotton, Renee Przelski, Rebecca Elwood, and Michael Mower; many step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his feline companion Lexi. In addition to his wife Sharon, Jeffrey was predeceased by a half-brother, Lewis V. Goodman, Jr.
Calling hours at the Autenrith Funeral Home, 7479 Main Street, Newport are Saturday, November 8, from 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm.
