Jeffrey R. Hudson

Jeffrey R. Hudson, age 67, of Selbyville, DE died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. He was born on June 5, 1957 in Salisbury, MD and was the son of the late Howard Hudson and Hilda M. (Mitchell) Hudson.
Growing up one of 6 children, Jeffrey enjoyed spending time with his family and family was always important throughout his entire life. Jeffrey attended Stephen Decatur High School where he picked up the nickname "Jeff Hud" from many friends and family members and went on to graduate in 1975.
In 1977, Jeffrey started his career at Maryland Marine, now called Worcester County Public Works. He was the superintendent for the water supply operations for the water and waste water division. Jeffrey enjoyed a long career of 41 years and retired in June 2018.
Jeffrey enjoyed his retirement by spending time with family, taking care of his beloved animals, especially the horses, and being the best pop-pop ever to his grandchildren. He joked around and said he was always busier in retirement than when he was working, but he wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world. His family meant the world to him and he enjoyed many family gatherings, game nights, fishing trips to Cape Hatteras in the Outer Banks, and spending time on the beach relaxing and fishing at Assateague Island.
He is survived by his wife, Susan C. Hudson; a daughter, Sarah L. Benson of Bishopville, MD; a sister, Tammy Hudson Davis of West Ocean City, MD; two grandchildren, Taylor Benson and McKenna Benson, a great grandson, Enzo Benson Chavez, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John Hudson, Ronald Hudson, Mary Webb and Patricia Webb.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville where a viewing will be held an hour before the service.
