Jeffrey (Jeff) Kahn, 59, passed away on June 13, after a short, untimely illness. Jeff is survived by Rebecca, his devoted wife of nearly 15 years, and his son Gabriel, 29. He is predeceased by his parents Frances and David Kahn. Jeff was known for his sardonic humor, brilliant intellect, astute political commentary, authenticity, loyalty and integrity. Jeff is one of the few who can say he lived out his dream. He devoted 21 years as owner of Cyber Café West. Cyber was far more than a business. It was his life. It was his identify. Jeff created a home for thousands of musicians, artists, beer lovers, foodies, chess players, trivia fans, and built a diverse, welcoming community around the space. He mentored dozens of employees who were his second family. Cyber was a labor of love, and Jeff sacrificed financial stability for passion and purpose. His legacy will live on in the thousands of people who were impacted by his life's work. When the Sisyphean task of keeping Cyber open became too much, he sold it and found joy in his recent career as a technical writer for McIntosh. Jeff's life was far too short, but he lived every day in a way we all aspire. Calling hours and funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 16, at Temple Concord, 5 Riverside Dr, Binghamton, NY 13905. Calling hours are from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and the funeral service will follow. Everyone entering the buildings will be required to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose, and to sign in with your name and a phone number. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Concord and Mercy House. Please visit ParsonsFuneral.com to offer your condolences.
