Jeffrey Edwin Lathbury, age 69, of Selbyville, DE passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury. He was born in Salisbury, MD and was the son of the late George Everett Lathbury and Colleen Louise (Hall) Lathbury.
Jeff served his country valiantly in the U.S. Army for four years and then entered the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring as a 1st Class Boatswain Mate. He also worked for the Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home since 2002. He was a member of Berlin American Legion Post #123 Boggs Disharoon, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 24 Dagsboro, American Legion Riders Chapter 123 and the Sussex County Fire Police Association. He was also an honorary member of the Selbyville Vol. Fire Co.
He is survived by two sons, Jared Emerson Lathbury and Jason Elliott Lathbury and wife Ashley all of Selbyville; one brother, Glenn M. Lathbury of Seaford, DE; his life partner, Debra Stark of Selbyville; three grandchildren, Juliana Lathbury, Jace Lathbury and Addie Lathbury and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry E. Lathbury and Gary M. Lathbury.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home, 19 S. Main Street in Selbyville, DE. A visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be in Redmen's Cemetery in Selbyville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Berlin American Legion Post #123 Boggs Disharoon, 10111 Old Ocean City Road, Berlin, MD. 21811.
