Jeffrey "Pops" MacCord
Born March 9, 1959
Passed away peacefully at home January 2, 2024
Survived by children, Jennifer MacCord, Nick MacCord (Leanne), Josh MacCord (Christine) and Angela MacCord (Lauran); grandchildren: Aiden, Braeden, Dane, Luna, Ellie Rose, Memphis, & Lindsay; and longtime companion and caregiver, Jane Spoerl.
Preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Geraldine MacCord, three brothers: Philip, Timothy, and Kevin MacCord; and two sisters: Sandra Stewart, and Geraldine Ann Martin. Survived by sisters, Sharon Reusch (Richard) and Linda Scullion; brothers, Gregory MacCord and David MacCord (Kathy) and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff was a graduate of Delcastle Vo-Tech High School, class of 1977. Joined the working force after graduating with Crowell Corporation and then moved on to W.L. Gore until he retired.
To know Jeff was to love him for all of his crazy stories and silly jokes. He had many hobbies, including fishing & cooking. Jeff loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren often but especially adored sorting and counting pennies with his granddaughters, just for fun. Although the bond he had with each of his grandchildren was indescribable. Jeff was a man of many words and loved to talk, he could make friends wherever he went and would talk for hours if you let him. Jeff always looked forward to his days out with longtime friends, Donnie, Jimbo, and Bill. But most days, Jeff could be found sitting in the kitchen or on the porch listening to music, telling stories to anyone who would listen.
Funeral services will be held at 5pm, Monday, Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A viewing will be held one hour prior.
