Jeffrey Northfield

Jeffrey (Jeff) Wayne Northfield passed away on October 16, 2025 from complications from a heart attack after many years of battling Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Northfield. Jeff is survived by his brother, Thomas Northfield; his children Tobin (Kirsten) Northfield, Elisabeth (Jason) Harkness, and Matthew Northfield; grandchildren, Noah Harkness, Nathan Harkness, and Kya Northfield. Jeff loved spending time with family and the outdoors. He became an avid skier in his 20s and later transitioned to taking his family on trips to go kayaking, mountain biking, surfing, hiking, or on a quest into the woods to find the perfect Christmas tree in its natural habitat. He chose his profession to spend time outdoors, and after receiving a forestry degree from University of Montana, he became a forester for Plum Creek Timber Company, and later the Army Corps of Engineers. In Minnesota as a child he developed a love of boats and always found an excuse to "go look at the boats" until he eventually purchased a boat of his own. Even when his health problems were getting the better of him, the times he acted goofy to make his grandchildren laugh was a reminder of how important family was to him. A memorial service will be held at his home church of Mount Rainier Christian Center, on November 22 at 12:00pm.
