Jeffrey R. Ollendick, 57, of Caledonia, Michigan; born November 11, 1965 in Cicero, Illinois. Beloved husband of Regena née Hayes for 32 years; loving brother of Julie, Lisa (Jerry) and Jennifer; proud uncle of Tabetha, Dylan, Nicole, Joel, Ashlee and Ryan; dear son of Joyce (née Wojciechowski) and the late Richard Ollendick; nephew of Gary (Sandy) Ollendick, Tom (Mary) Ollendick, Ken (the late Donna) Ollendick, Duane Ginger) Ollendick, Diane (Gene) Wright and the late Ronald (Suzanne, surviving) Ollendick; and many, many cousins.
Jeff graduated from Wheaton-Warrenville High School Wheaton, Illinois, class of 1983. Following graduation, he attended College of DuPage and North Central College with a BA in Business and worked at Gary-Wheaton Bank for about 5 years. He then moved on and graduated from the Electrician Trade School with IBEW 701 electrician's union and was a residential electrician for 5 years. Jeff also worked at Lowe's Home Improvement for 17 years as the head of their Tool World Dept. Then graduated from Waubonsee Community College with honors and an Associates degree in Accounting. Jeff's niche was numbers.
Jeff met the love of his life, Gena while attending a haunted trail in West Chicago, October 28, 1989. They married on May 31, 1991. They purchased their first home in Montgomery, IL February 1992 and built a home in Sugar Grove, IL May 2003. Jeff and Gena made the move to Caledonia, Michigan on January 14, 2014. They transferred through Farmers Insuran. Group, Inc when they shut down the office Gena worked at in North Aurora, Illinois. They chose Michigan because it was closest to home, 2.5 hrs. Jeff loved fishing, going to movies, being with family and friends and going on the 8 Ollendick family vacations.
Jeff eventually lost his long struggle with a Neurodegenerative Disease. In lieu of a funeral, requested
that there be a celebration of life gathering instead, in the Spring of 2024. His hope was that his loved
ones would remember him the way he was before his illness took hold.
