Jeffrey Lynn Pooler passed away at his home in Casa Grande, Arizona on August 28,2022, at the age of 57, just 43 days shy of his birthday. Oh, how he loved his birthdays. he would start reminding everyone well in advance, to make sure you wouldn't forget.
Jeff was born the son of Jerry Lynn Pooler and Linda Jo (Wagoner) Pooler in Beech Grove, Indiana on October 10,1964.
Jeff attended school at Madison, in Wellington, Special Education Classes for 10 years. Upon graduation he became a Client at Futures Unlimited where they built chairs for Pizza Hut and Sparkies fire starters. Through Futures he also had jobs at McDonald's and Wal-Mart. He said he "almost met Sam Walton". His next job was with Chris Craig Construction and Pooler Construction, keeping the job site clean and tools in proper place. But Jeff had a wandering eye, so one day while with his father at the lumber yard, he went to visit Les Jacobs. He asked Les if he needed help and said, "I need a job". He was hired on the spot. Jeff worked for Les until the dealership was sold. When Richard Jesina purchased the dealership, he didn't know it was a package deal and they inherited Jeff as an employee. Both the Jacobs and the Jesina families took Jeff in as their own, always keeping a watchful eye on him and taking the very best care, while at work and away while becoming some of the most special friends.
Jeff was a people person, never meeting a stranger. He was the undesignated "Ambassador" while
working for both Les Jacobs Motors and Countryside Motors, greeting customers was his delight. He was a jokester but didn't necessarily like jokes being played on him. No doubt there are many untold stories from those whom he worked with. Jeff loved to drive, and his very best buddy, Jeff Jesina saw to it that he got to do so on a regular basis along with mowing the grass and driving the ATVs into the storage area at night. Jeff always made sure our Jeff was taken care of. Jeff worked at Countryside Motors until 2004 when he moved to Arkansas but was always welcome with open arms anytime he came back to Wellington to visit. The shop was no doubt dirty and in need of cleaning there were certainly pop cans that needed retrieved from the trash. While living in Arkansas he was employed at Sun Fest Market where he loved his position of sacking and carrying out and keeping the store looking spic and span. Jeff kept having unexplained cash, upon inquiring where he got this cash, he proudly said "TIPS"! Of course, he had that famous smile on his face. Everyone loved his infectious personality.
Jeff participated in the Special Olympics numerous times, winning several medals from swimming, shot put, softball throw, and the "not so fast" 50-yard dash. Jeff also loved to bowl. After moving to Arizona, he was on a team for 2 years. They participated in the Special Olympics in Tucson, also receiving several medals. Jeff loved all types of music, movies, and TV series with re-runs of Walker Texas Ranger and The Dukes of Hazzard being his favorites. We got to watch all the seasons and every episode numerous times, but he was happy.
Jeff is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Pauline Pooler, Vernie and Hazel Wagoner and aunt, Glenda (Pooler) Lick along with numerous other beloved relatives.
Jeff is survived by his loving parents, Jerry and Linda Pooler, his baby sister, Shelley Pooler, and his dog, Lucy along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends, all who loved him dearly, but far too many to list.
