Jeffery (Poppers-Jeff-Jeffro-JP-Lucky) Salazar left this world on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ross Espinosa and Annie Borrego; paternal grandparents Alfonso Salazar and Rosemarie Sanchez; father Roberto Salazar; uncles Jojo Salazar, Donald Espinosa, Joseph Roybal, Audelio Romero, and aunt Debbie Salazar.
His deliberate presence will forever be celebrated by all who endured his impressionable existence. Not only in memory, but daily, his belief in love between brothers of the spirit will be felt by all who knew him best. His genuine sarcasm and quick wit proved to be an inherent attraction which made many long-standing connections. Generosity, comradery, and slight were the standard to maintain his most meaningful relationships. His intellect and talents far exceed the recognition he received and his expression through music was unrivaled. But it will be his conviction in his loyalty for some of the worst sports franchises ever, sincerity in the loyalty he showed for his family, and the torment he insisted on inflicting in his role as a Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Grandson, Cousin and Friend, which will remain with those closest to him. Shout out to his extended family of “Gophers for Life...!!”
Jeff is survived by his best friend and beloved son Lucas; mother Belinda (Cosme); brothers - Bobby (Emily), Carlos, Miguel (Sandra) and Alfredo; sister JeanAnn (Emmanuel); along with an extended family of very special Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
There will be no Services at this time and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family of Jeffrey Salazar has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477
