Jose “Junior” Andres Valerio, 76, passed away peacefully October 9, 2025, following a lengthy illness. He was born March 3, 1949, to Jose and Susana Valerio in Watrous, New Mexico.
He was the youngest of his siblings Cristobal, Gilberto, Elviria, Prescella and Elsie. Junior worked for many years in construction with NM Dept. of Transportation and Los Alamos County. He was always there with a helping hand when asked and enjoyed spending his time outdoors doing yardwork.
He was preceded in death by his son Marty Valerio, parents Jose and Susana Valerio, father and mother-in-law Demetrio and Eufracia Martinez, in-laws Vivian and Joe Vigil, Celina and Gonzalo Lucero, Adonaiso and Clorinda Martinez and Gerson Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, Diolinda Martinez of Chimayo. His children Linda Mae (Herb), Richard (India), Joseph and daughter-in-law Monica. His grandchildren Nichelle, Eric, Aliciana, April, Randy, Marcus, Brooke, Josiah, Nickolas, Serina, Gary, Andrew, and Amanda and great-grandchildren Xiomara and Armando. In-laws Fedelina (Paul) Montalvo Soliz (Angie) Martinez, Rudy Martinez and Marcos (Karen) Martinez. Special nieces Judy and Joyce as well as many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Services will take place at 12 noon Saturday October 25, 2025 at the Rio Chiquito Assembly of God with burial to follow at the Rio Chiquito Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Eric, Randy, Serina, Daniel, and Joel. Honorary pallbearers are Judy and Joyce.
