Jeffrey Sargent Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Don Catchen & Son Funeral Home on Sep. 29, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Jeffrey Allen Sargent, born December 7, 1962, in Covington KY went peacefully to meet

the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

He was a masonry by trade. He loved music, a good pool game, laughter and

conversation over a cold beer with his buddies; football talk with his oldest grandson

Michael on Sundays & watching Ethan, Julius and Brayden play baseball over the

years. He was a diehard Bengals fan, telling his daughter EVERY SINGLE year "we

are gonna win the Super Bowl this year, you watch."

He loved to laugh with his son and heckle his daughter while eating her delicious meals

and making her laugh at his one liners. He loved his kids more than life. And all of his

grandkids more than that. He spent nearly his entire life with his then wife Lisa, who

stayed his best friend over hell and highwaters. The bond with his brother was one

everyone wished for. Jeff was no Saint but could do no wrong in his brother's eyes.

Jeff was never a stranger to anyone. He was happy to shake hands and trade a story or

two about common interests and fix it hacks. He had the heart of a lion and a lamb all in

one. And treated people accordingly. He loved and protected his family fiercely but

would also make space for forgiveness and compassion when and where it was

deserved. He was a force- a funny, drive you crazy, have your back, always an opinion

but never discouraging kind of special force. To know him was to love him always.

Jeff is proceeded in death by his mother Fern Sargent, his father Chester Sargent, and

his only son, Jason Sargent who Lord knows was thrilled to see ol' dad walking through

to greet him. He is survived by his daughter Krystal Chandler (Jason), his beloved

grandchildren Michael, Julius, Ethan, Hannah, Brooklyn, Jaden, Kaylee and Brayden.

His brother Steve Sargent (Brenda) and nephew Tony Sargent (Rheagan). And of

course, his very best friend, love of his life, ex-wife Lisa McIlvain.

Jeff will be missed beyond measure. But we know he'll never be too far away.

Family has asked that if you are a Bengals fan to proudly wear any gear you may have

to the visitation on Thursday October 2 nd from 5-7pm at Don Catchen & Sons, 313 W

19 th St in Covington. A short service will begin at 7pm.
