It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Jeffrey Ralph Turner who left this world surrounded by love on January 24, 2025. Jeff is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughters Amy Fraterelli and Mindy Dehart (Paul Dehart); stepdaughters Heather Butler and Holly Jackson; and grandchildren Benjamin Fraterelli, Samuel Fraterelli, Dominique Jackson, Reginald Jackson and Erica Jackson.
Jeff grew up in Blue Island, adjacent to Chicago, Illinois. After working a series of hard jobs while attending junior college (meat packing plant, Libby's canned food factory, and the Cleveland Harbor on Lake Erie), Jeff decided to attend the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where he earned a degree in Engineering. While in Wyoming, he met and married his first wife, Sharon, and after finishing college, they moved to California where Jeff began a job with the City of Los Angeles. There they had their first daughter, Amy. However, the Rocky Mountains were calling, and they moved to Colorado where Jeff began work for Gates Rubber Company, built his own house in Sedalia, Colorado and where their second child, Mindy, was born. He worked at Gates for the next 30 years and Gates was where Jeff met his second wife, Carol. They shared 44 years of marriage and adventure living at various times in Denver, Colorado; Sophia, Bulgaria; Evergreen, Colorado; Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Custer, South Dakota; Salida, Colorado, and Canon City. After retiring, Jeff enjoyed woodworking, camping, writing letters, playing cribbage, and spending time with family. Jeff will be remembered for loving his wife Carol, as well as his children and grandchildren. There will be an open house at the Turner home on February 23 from 12p-2p. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
