Jeffrey Irving Young

Jeffrey Irving Young, 47, a dedicated attorney and cherished father, passed away on March 26, 2025, at Evanston Hospital. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Beth (née Chudnow) for 13 wonderful years; the loving father of Rachel and Sarah; the devoted son of Randi and the late Richard Young; and the dear brother of Elizabeth Young and Michael Young (Adam Furlich). Jeff was also the adored son-in-law of Barbara and Barry Chudnow, the caring brother-in-law of Tracy (Robbie) Schy, and the proud uncle of Joshua Panfil, Asher Panfil, and Lyla Schy. He was a treasured friend to many.
Born and raised in Wilmette, Illinois, Jeff attended New Trier High School before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He served as a partner at Amundsen Davis law firm and practiced law for 23 years.
Above all, Jeff was a devoted father. Anyone who knew him understood that his daughters meant the world to him. From nighttime drives and ice cream outings to Friday night daddy-daughter dinners, Jeff cherished every moment with Rachel and Sarah-and they adored their fun-loving, silly father in return.
Jeff was known for his encyclopedic knowledge of music and cars. A wonderful and faithful friend, he had a gift for connecting with people and engaging in meaningful conversation. His warmth, intellect, and humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
