Jenny was born on 12-06-1961 at St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac, Mi. She was the first of 2 children to the now deceased Leo and Gwen (Hetherington) Leach. Jenny was raised in Waterford until 8th grade when the family moved to Holly. She graduated from Holly High School and Baker College.
She is survived by her brother Kerry Leach, her husband Steven Morin and over 38 nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. After her mother's death in 1990 Jenny was semi-adopted by her mom's best friend, who is also now deceased, Cleo "Butch" Mook. They laughed and cried together for hours on end. Jenny was preceded in death by her mother, father, many aunts and uncles. She was also preceded by Steven's father, their dear friend Mark, and by Steven's brother Chuck (whom she adored).
Jenny was very funny and would refer to Steven as "my first husband". She and Steven shared a weird sense of humor. For example, when Steven was asked if he misses her when he is gone for military duty he would say "with every bullet so far". Jenny loved to talk to anyone, which she knew drove Steven nuts!
They had no children of their own but were known for their spoiled miniature schnauzers Chelsea, Chapin, Sunny, Journey, and Daisy. Steve and Jenny moved to Elkton, MI, to her final home fulfilling a prophecy she was told when she was 18. She was told she would marry a tall, dark-haired man, in a uniform, and they would live in the Thumb.
Jenny was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in her 20's and endured over 30 surgeries. Her illness caused her to lose most of her digestive function and eventually overwhelmed her sensitive body. Jenny's story was not about her health, it was about her life. She helped people manage Crohn's and Colitis. She helped a 70 year old neighbor with an emergency colostomy. Jenny demonstrated deep empathy and compassion as she assisted her neighbor with bathing and living with physical limitations.
She loved music, sports, reading, crafts, and traveling when she could. Jenny loved practical jokes, once telling Kerry that Santa could not find them in Holly! She also had Steven come to her cousin Corey's new home in his police uniform walking up to the door with his hand on his gun. She would also joke that a goose must have hit the window when Steven blew his nose.
Jenny was close to her dear friend Kim. Jenny also looked out for others and ensured Steven would shovel snow for a recently divorced friend and their neighbors. Once She thought she heard a child scream. In concern for the child's safety, she sent Steven down a creek with only his shorts and shoes on, carrying his gun, in total darkness. It happened to be a Grey Heron squawking.
She was the guiding light for Steven in his military, law enforcement and personal life. Jenny was the apple of her mom's eye and watched over Kerry as best she could. She leaves a void in the hearts of many that will never be filled. Jenny said she will visit after her death so don't think her jokes are done! She loved, was loved, and continues to be with us in our hearts and dreams. Jenny was truly the wind beneath my wings.
~Steven {because she would not call me Steve}.
Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024 from 3-7pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 5391 Highland Road, Waterford, Michigan 48327. Jenny will be buried privately at The Preserve in Waterford. Memorial Donations may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, Tunnels to Towers Foundation, or the Village of Elkton Ambulance Services, 57 N. Main St., Elkton, Michigan 48731.

She was truly array of sunshine, always very positive positive and her memories of her family were the most eloquently said, and she always remembered her. Her grandfather. Roy was such joy. She loved him so deeply I will miss her sweet smile. She was as beautiful on the inside as out, God bless her and may she rest in peace praying for you, Stephen as I know your loss is great. You did a wonderful job taking care of her. She loved you to heaven and back again.
