SCOTT, Jennifer Y. – of Clio, age 55, died peacefully at home on Monday, November 17, 2025, with family by her side after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. Funeral services will be held at 4PM Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Abe Garcia officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 1PM until 8PM, and Sunday from 12PM until the time of service at 4PM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Jennifer was born on February 6, 1970, in Flint, Michigan, to Roy and Yvonne (Emery) Lake. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1988 and earned her associate degree from Baker Business College in 1990. Since 2011, Jennifer worked as the office manager at Artistic Pools and Concrete in Fenton. She was also a cherished member of El Shaddai Church in Flint. Jennifer had a lifelong love of theatre and music, and her beautiful singing voice reflected that passion, whether performing with a local band or singing at family gatherings. She loved attending concerts, with New Kids On The Block as her absolute favorite-she never missed one of their shows. Jennifer also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and curating her collection of shoes and purses. She was a devoted advocate for breast cancer awareness, always lending her time to causes close to her heart. Jennifer was deeply loved by her family and all who knew her. Strong, independent, and endlessly welcoming, she had a smile that could brighten any room. Above all, her greatest pride and joy were her two sons. She poured herself into raising them, creating a warm and welcoming home, and guiding them with patience, laughter, and unwavering support. She was, without a doubt, the best mother in the world, and the bond they shared reflected her extraordinary heart and spirit. Though she will be greatly missed, she will always be remembered.
Surviving are: Husband, Leland Scott; Children: Cameron (Liz) Tash, Leland Scott II, and Alicia (John) Bailey; Grandchildren: Natalia and Eli Bailey, Brylaine and Leland Scott III; Mother, Yvonne Emery; Siblings: Tony (Jenny) Schaffer, Cyndi Aviles, and Michelle (Joseph) Seifert; Many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. Jennifer was preceded in death by: Beloved son, Noah Tash; Brother, Roger Emery; Father, Roy Lake; Brother-in-law, Benny Aviles.
