Jennifred Sargent Trotter, 96, of Greenwood, widow of James Paul Trotter, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Emerald Gardens.
Born December 17, 1928, in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lesley Sargent and Bernice Elrod Sargent. She was employed with Sherwin-Williams for many years before retiring from Greenwood School District 50.
Mrs. Trotter was a gifted artist who also enjoyed sewing and singing. A devoted member of Coronaca Baptist Church, she sang faithfully in the choir. For the past eight years, she was a beloved and active member of the Emerald Gardens community.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Bill) Collins of Denton, TX, and Beth Denton of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Calfee, Lesley (Dale) Mitchell, James (Barbara) Denton, and David Denton; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Abby, Katherine Rollins, Maddy White, and Geoffrey Calfee; and one brother, Eugene Sargent. She was predeceased by siblings, Max Sargent, Laura Fortson, and James Sargent.
Pallbearers will be James Denton, David Denton, Max Sargent, and Sam Sargent.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Blyth Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Polatty officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
