With profound sadness we announce the passing to heaven of Jeremiah Joseph Reen III, on Monday, June 30th 2025, with his loving wife Susan by his side.
His legacy will live on through his family; his wife Susan; his son, Jeremiah Reen (Christina) of Pelham Manor, NY, daughter Susan Story of Charleston, SC, son Tade Reen (Kristi) of Pelham Manor, NY, and his eight beloved grandchildren, Lawrence, Charlie, Jeremiah, Callum, Declan, Rosie, Lucy and Teagan.
Jeremiah was born on August 24, 1942 in Queens, New York to Helen and Jeremiah Reen from County Kerry, Ireland. While he lived elsewhere for years, his heart, soul and attitude never left the borough. He graduated from Monsignor McClancy High School and earned his degree from St. John's University. He went on to work in human resources at Grace Line, American Management Association and GTE.
Jeremiah met the love of his life, Susan Wallace, at St. John's and they married the day after she graduated in 1965. In 1977, they moved their family from Forest Hills Gardens, Queens to New Canaan, Connecticut where they resided for 37 years. Jeremiah was a proud member of St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan, CT, and an active member in the Emmaus youth retreat program. Jeremiah enjoyed his final decade in his beloved community of Southampton Shores on Long Island's East End, surrounded by family and close friends.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Susan Reen, and was predeceased by his father, Jeremiah Reen II, his mother, Helen Wenthen Reen and his sister, Maureen McCorry.
A funeral mass will be held to honor and celebrate Jeremiah's life on Wednesday, July 23rd at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham, NY.
Jeremiah leaves behind so much love in the hearts of so many. He embodied what it means to be a loving husband, father and friend, uplifting all with his humor, sharp wit and caring demeanor.
