Jeremy Benjamin Cook was born March 13, 1979, in Pine Bluff to James Cook and Donna Gossage Barnett. He was a graduate of Pulaski Academy in Little Rock and following graduation, he attended Baylor University. Jeremy later transferred to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he received his Bachelor's degree in Finance and Business. He began working at Simmons Bank, where he was most recently an Investment Operations Specialist. He loved being social and hanging out with friends and family, and cherished his time as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jeremy was described as an eclectic person, whose interests varied from hunting and fishing to the Saturday morning trips to the flea markets where he reveled in wheeling and dealing. He was the one person who could negotiate a price on an item, carry it around for 30 minutes and make a few bucks on it later. His musical tastes were just as varied: Gospel to Country to Rap. You name it, it may well have been in his playlist! He enjoyed performing Karaoke with friends and bragging on his flea market finds to anyone within ear shot. Jeremy was mischievous and loved joking around with his younger cousins, some of who fondly called him "Jerminy".
Jeremy passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the age of 45, surrounded by his family. Although he did not live a long life, he did live a full life. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Gossage Barnett of White Hall; half-sister, Jamie Reed; stepsister, Amber Kittler; half-brother, River Cook; and a number of cousins and extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 P.M. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. Services will be officiated by Pastor Dean Caldwell. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
