It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeremy Smith, affectionately known as Jer and Ronnie by those who held him dear. Jeremy died of heart attack while hunting wild turkey's with his father-in-law. Born on May 27, 1980, in Ogden, Utah, Jeremy's life was a testament to love, laughter, and loyalty. Known for his humor and adventurous spirit, Jeremy had a gift of turning any ordinary moment into a memory filled with laughter and joy. A man of generous spirit, he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word, making the world around him a little brighter.
Jeremy was a dedicated and hardworking supervisor at Tarter Gate, always leading by example. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. Jeremy's laughter and jovial spirit echoed within the halls of his workplace, leaving a mark that will never fade.
Outside of work, Jeremy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping, especially in the Uintah Mountains and Yellowstone. No adventure was complete without his dogs, Duke, Remi, and Raven, and his side by side. His love for nature was only rivaled by his love for his family. Jeremy's wife, Kacie, and their son, Tucker, were his world. He was a loving father and a devoted husband, always putting their needs above his own.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Kacie Greenwell Smith; his son, Tucker Smith; his mother, Karen (Keith) Hess; Sisters, Heather (John) Davis, and Holly (Nicc) Freier, father and mother in-law, Merrill and Jaylene Greenwell and a cherished friend who was like a father, Kipp (Cher) Layton, also survived by his brother from another mother Zac (Lacey) Layton.
A celebration of Jeremy's life will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11 AM at the North Ogden 1st Ward, 626 E. 2600 N. North Ogden. Viewings will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 6-8 PM and Saturday, from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church.
Please remember Jeremy whenever you see a beautiful forest or a mountain lake. Jeremy loved all of God's creations.
