Jeremy David Thompson, age 53, of Sandstone, MN passed away August 12, 2025. Memorial service details will be posted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to help care for his children.
Jeremy was born December 13, 1971 in Fridley, Minnesota to Terry and Carmen (Johnson) Thompson. He grew up in Fridley, and attended Spring Lake Park High School.
While Jeremy loved fishing, his true passion was his children. Being a father and grandfather meant absolutely everything to Jeremy. Anyone who knew Jeremy could tell you how much he loved them and how proud he was of them.
Jeremy was one of those guys that you could call if you needed a hand or were in a bind. He would help anyone who needed it. Many called him "Bullfrog", we don't even recall if it was due to the "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog" song or his love of frogs (he even had frog tattoos) or what. He was just a goofy guy, and while he may not have had much in the way of monetary or physical things here on this earth, but he made up for it with the love and friendships of so many. He touched many lives and will be missed deeply.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Katelynne (Nate) Knowles, Laryssa (Trystian) Hanson; sons, Tyler Thompson, Jeffery Thompson; grandson, Dakota; brother, Loren (Christy) Thompson; sister, Cheri (Rick) Capistrant; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and innumerable friends. Jeremy was preceded in death by multiple family members including his father, Terry Thompson and mother, Carmen (Johnson) Thompson.
Just a reminder, life is short, tomorrow is not guaranteed-tell your people you love them. Hug them a little tighter. Because if we've learned anything from losing Jeremy, it's that life can change in an instant, and you cannot go back to tell them or hug them, do it today.
