Jeri Linn Alwes, age 69, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. She was born on October 16, 1955, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Arthur and Eleanor Anderson. Jeri graduated in 1973 from Blooming Prairie High School. She married Elvin Alwes at First Lutheran Church on June 25, 1977. She worked at Jostens in Owatonna for more than 20 years. Jeri had a passion for gardening and looked forward to flower shopping every Mother’s Day. She enjoyed being part of a bowling league and eagerly anticipated trips to state competitions. Her hobbies included canning, woodworking, and creating beautiful diamond art. She loved attending craft shows, visiting Canterbury Park, and enjoying local dirt track racing on Friday, Saturday, and sometimes Sunday nights. Jeri was also a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Twins, and NASCAR, often cheering for her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, attending concerts, sporting events, and dance recitals; you name it, she was there.

Jeri is survived by her husband, Elvin Alwes of Blooming Prairie; children, James Alwes (Naomi Smith) of Blooming Prairie, Jennifer Alwes (Josh Becker) of Blooming Prairie, Jessica Alwes of Blooming Prairie; grandchildren, Tyler, Kollyn, Ashleigh, Kaiden, Zoey, Aubry, and Rayanne; sister, Juli Anderson (Larry Tolle) of Plymouth; cousin, Barb (Dan) Guggisberg of Owatonna; nephew, Lucas; and many other relatives and friends. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, son, grandparents, uncle, and brother.
