David George Ressler, 78, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away at his home on August 17, 2025.
He was born on May 28, 1947, to George and Tillie Ressler. David graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1965 and went on to study for two years at the University of Minnesota where he was a member of the Gopher bowling team and as a freshman, won the Big Ten Bowling Championship in 1966. He later transferred to Mankato State College where he graduated with a math major and a physics minor in 1970.
He married Karla Hanson on September 23, 1967, and was later divorced. After college, he worked alongside his parents as owner/operator of Ressler Lanes until 2008, when he sold it to his son, Michael. He retired in 2011.
David is survived by his four children, Kristin (Jack) Holforty of Carmel, IN, Michael (Alysa) Ressler of Blooming Prairie, MN, Aaron (Lana) Ressler of Blooming Prairie, MN, and Eric (Melanie) Ressler of Acworth, GA; nine grandchildren, Jackson, Taylor, Jake, Jessica, Kollyn, Kaiden, Aubry, Connor, and Kensley; his sister, Joanie (Harry) Muellner of Rochester, MN; niece, Andrea (Chris) Peterson; nephew, Brian (Sarah) Muellner; and grand nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Tillie Ressler; infant twin sisters, Karen and Sharen Ressler; and grandson, Jordan Ressler.
The family will be celebrating his life with an open house at Ressler Lanes in Blooming Prairie, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, August 29 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
